The team at JJS Electronics recently celebrated AS9100 registration, having been awarded the industry standard for its manufacturing sites in Lutterworth, UK and Chomutov, Czech Republic. Recognition of excellence in business, quality management and operational practice, the registration is proof that JJS operations meet the demanding quality standards of today’s aerospace industry.

Providing external, independent and global recognition of JJS’ status as a quality supplier within the aerospace supply chain, AS9100 is a significant industry benchmark and an extension of the ISO9001 standard. Not only providing assurance to all JJS customers and prospects that manufacturing capabilities exceed industry standards, AS9100 also evidences that quality management systems address additional safety, reliability and quality concerns specific to the aerospace industry. JJS Electronics Ltd. and JJS Electronics sro. will now be subject to regular surveillance visits to ensure systems remain in compliance with AS9100.

Commenting on the recent accreditation, JJS Sales & Operations Manager, Neil Sharp, explains: “We’re obviously delighted to receive our AS9100 certificates – for each of our manufacturing facilities. As a UK contract manufacturing specialist delivering all the benefits of an offshore facility, we’ve always delivered the best of both worlds for our customers. The quality standard is particularly pertinent in this context; there are currently only 26 companies in the Czech Republic with AS9100. Quality is at the heart of everything we do here at JJS, it’s all about getting it right first time, every time – as our customers will testify”

In addition to EMS services including design for test, design for manufacturing, PCB assembly, mechanical assembly and full systems integration, JJS also delivers Page 2 of 2 PR16 - AS9100 October 2010 comprehensive material procurement, inventory management and test services capabilities plus a direct ship capability which delivers finished products directly to its customers’ customers.

AS9100 accreditation is part of the company’s World Class programme which lead to a number of recent investments including the introduction of enhanced production facilities in the UK and Czech Republic, along with new production, engineering and development specialists plus leading-edge screen printing, pick & place and optical inspection equipment. The World Class programme has also helped the company to secure a raft of recent new business wins, which will lead to significant growth in 2011 and beyond.
